THE STORY

A little closer to the heart of it.

Harold and Harriet are delighted when their kingdom lines up with gifts. Cookies and performances please them, but Abiel's star, cloth and shepherd's staff leave them puzzled. A visit from travellers following a star helps the royal couple recognize what Abiel has been trying to share.

Who's at the centre?

King Harold, Queen Harriet and Abiel carry the main transformation, with the Chief Advisor and Royal Page supplying commentary and transitions.

How can the speaking roles flex?

Crowd Member, Minstrel, Child and visiting King speeches can be redistributed. Page announcements could be shared among attendants with revised entrances. Keep Abiel recognizable across all his visits.

Room for the rest of the group.

The royal subjects gather as a crowd; minstrels sing and children dance. These groups can grow independently of the central cast.

Bringing it to life.

Thrones or chairs establish the court. Gifts drive the story, so a star, cloth and shepherd's staff need clear handling. This is an imagined royal court, with comic references to Herod.
