THE STORY

A little closer to the heart of it.

Morris Monroe and Marty audition a mind reader, a singer, an animal trainer, magicians and a superhero duo. Nothing seems impressive enough to save the theatre. When the Stagehand brings the performers together as a nativity cast, Morris and the theatre's owner find a different kind of value.

Who's at the centre?

Morris, Marty, the Stagehand and Ms. Zuckerman form the continuing cast. Audition performers receive their own comic moments.

How can the speaking roles flex?

Adjust the Amazing Arties by redistributing speeches and matching the card-trick actions. Existing role reuse connects Weldon to the Innkeeper, Mighty Mary and Super Joe to Mary and Joseph, and the Arties to the Magi.

Room for the rest of the group.

Dancing sheep and shared singing create room for more performers. A larger audition group needs deliberate dialogue and action assignments.

Bringing it to life.

A few chairs and a clipboard establish auditions. A later scene change reveals the performers' nativity presentation. Decide who plays the Angel before rehearsals.

Another story to discover.
